Ingredients
  

Materials:

  • Sm amt yarn ea per cozy(White-MC, CC, & CC#2)
  • Crochet hook size H/8 5:00mm)

Finishing Materials:

  • Tapestry needle for ends
  • Glue gun/glue (optional)

Finished Size:

  • Approx. 4” L x 2 ¾” W

Gauge:

  • Not important to overall size

Skill Level:

  • Easy – Intermediate

Special Stitches:

  • DcDec: (yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) as many times as stated, yo, draw through all lps on hook to complete the st.
  • Long Double Crochet/Ldc: yo, insert hook indicated st, yo draw up a lp, yo draw through 2 lps on hk, yo, draw through 1 lp, yo, draw through 2 lps) to complete the stitch

Instructions
 

Egg Cozy: (Make 2) (MC)

  • Row 1) Form a magic lp using white; ch 3 (counts as first dc), (4 dc) in lp (top of egg); pull tail tight to close circle: 5 dc.
     
  • Row 2) Ch 3, tun work; [(2dc) in next dc, dc in next dc] twice: 7 dc.
  • Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; (2 dc) in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, (2 dc) in next dc, dc in last dc: 9 dc.
  • Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; dc in next 8 dc: 9 dc.
     
  • Row 5) Ch 2, turn work, dc in next dc (counts as first dc dec over 2 sts), dc in next 5 dc, dc dec over last 2 dc see special sts: 7 sts.
  • Row 6) Ch 2, turn work, dc dec over next 2 sts (counts as first dc dec over 3 sts), dc in next dc, dc dec over last 3 sts (bottom of egg): 3 sts. Fasten off; secure ends.  

Yarn Edging and Joining: (Using CC)

  • Rnd 1) Join CC to magic lp at top of one egg with a sl st; ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in same place, working over end dc on row 1, (sc, ch 1, sc), over end dc on row 2, (sc, ch 1, sc), holding second egg cozy next to work, matching row 1 with row 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) over next end dc on row 3 through both eggs, continue working over each row, working (sc, ch 1, sc) over end dc, until you worked over the last end dc on row 6, sk next st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in center dc of row 6, [(sc, ch 1, sc) over end dc post on next row] 4 times, working over just the top egg, [(sc, ch 1, sc) over end dc post on next row] twice; join with a sl st in first sc: 28 sc/14 ch1-sps.  Fasten off; secure ends. 

Flower: (Using CC)

  • Ch 4; join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.
  • Rnd 1) Ch 1; * sc in ring, ch 3; rep from * 5 times; join with a sl st in first sc: 5 petals formed.  Fasten off; secure ends.

Leaves: (Using CC #2 or green)

  • Row 1) Ch 4; Ldc in 4thch from hook see special sts, * ch 2, sl st under front top lp of Ldc to form a tip, ch 3, sl st in 1st ch of beg ch 4, * (working opposite side of leaf), ch 3, Ldc in 1stch of beg ch 4; rep from * to * once: 2 leaves formed.  Fasten off; secure ends.
